HOPE YOU HAVE A NICE WEEKEND

Hope you have a nice weekend is a minimal observation, aiming for a detail, intimаcy and honesty. An extensive portrait of а long working day, spent in a home office setting. The modern working day has entered the phase of transformation in accordance with the development and possibilities granted by technology.

COVID-19 has forced many people to work from their homes, being physically isolated. Because of the pandemic, the world has seen isolation and restrictions on everyday basis. Many of my friends and relatives also remained isolated in their own homes, working in front of screens, and their world was confined to a single monitor. The act of staring at the glowing screens provoked my interest in the people sitting in front of them.

In this project, I focus on the faces of people who spend their days working in front of a computer at home. I used a remote-controlled camera placed before their computer at the start of their working day. After each day of photographing them every 2 seconds, I noticed that an emotional palette appears, provoked by events happening to the person in the online world, but not in the visible one around him. The subject in front of the computer can perform different professions, but from the side they look the same - a face in front of a screen and a keyboard.

This project is made and curated during master class for documentary and narrative practices organized by VII Agency
